Wins Vendor Award - May 2005
Wackenhut received top honors at Big Lots’ Loss Prevention 2005 Annual Meeting. Hundreds of Big Lots loss prevention professionals and 18 other vendors were in Niagara Falls, Ontario for the conference. At some level or aspect of security protection, said Pickett, global terrorism has had an impact on the security manager's organization. This course discussion was focused on helping managers gain a valued prospective on how Global Terrorism has and will effect their organizations here at home, and their roles as a security function owner. Companies designated by the Department of Homeland Security as "infrastructure targets", such as US Ports, chemical facilities, nuclear power plants and transportation industries have been affected through new federal laws, industry guidelines or standards, or best practice applications.
