Frederick G. Giles is the Vice President of Research Services for the Wackenhut Corporation, which is headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. In that capacity, he is responsible for the nationwide operations of the Wackenhut National Research Center, it’s public records retrieval network, full backgrounds service and it’s international communications hotline service, Safe2SayŽ.

With over 30 years of experience in loss prevention and law enforcement, Giles areas of expertise include public record retrieval, employment screening, corporate asset protection, and investigative interviewing.

Prior to joining Wackenhut, Giles served as President of the Official Provider’s Source, a public record provider to the security industry. Before that, he worked 10 years as Vice President of the nationwide backgrounds verification division for Pinkerton Consulting and Investigations, where he oversaw its growth from a small internal resource to a leader in the field.  Also during part of that time, he directed the relocation and growth of the hotline communication service from a small provider to a nationally recognized service provider.

Giles also held positions as the Director of a forensic training academy, Vice President Operations for a loss prevention consulting services company, and a crime prevention officer for a law enforcement agency.

As a consultant, Giles has accepted assignments from both the Department of Defense and the National Security Agency. Being very involved in aspects of pre-employment selection, he has spoken at a significant number of conferences and published numerous reports and articles on the subject.

Giles holds a Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University, and has completed numerous postgraduate and in-service training courses, including the North Carolina Justice Academy. He is a member and a Certified Protection Professional, CPP, with ASIS International, also serving on the Business Practices Council, a member of the National Council for Investigative and Security Services, the Society for Human Resource Management, and the National Association of Professional Background Screeners where he currently serves as Vice-chair of the Government Relations committee and as a member of the Board of Directors.

Giles has been interviewed by various national news media as an expert, including an appearance on Discovery channel’s "Inside" series, Security Management and Loss Prevention Magazine.
